Cher grabbed her fair share of headlines at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 1st for a number of different reasons – and the internet is here for them all!
The 79-year-old music icon was at the ceremony to accept the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award,’ as well as to present the award for ‘Record of the Year’ to another artist. But things didn’t exactly go according to plan…

Cher Wows In A Lace And Leather Gown At The Grammys
The ageless "Believe" hitmaker looked phenomenal at the ceremony, wearing a dramatic custom Luis De Javier Spring 2025 dress that turned heads for all the right reasons. The piece was a cross between a catsuit and a bandage dress, featuring a plunging front and edgy leather cutout strips that revealed the lace catsuit underneath.
The "If I Could Turn Back Time" singer accessorized the cutout leather gown with a black cropped leather jacket, fierce black biker boots, and a dazzling necklace.
She opted to wear a blonde center-parted wavy wig, and sported flawless makeup finished off with a plump pink lip.

Cher Accidentally Reveals The Wrong 'Record Of The Year' Winner
Things got even more memorable when Cher took the stage to present the 'Record of the Year' award. In a hilarious twist that the world will be talking about for years to come, she first mistakenly accepted her own 'Lifetime Achievement' award instead of reading the 'Record of the Year' nominees and announcing the winner.
After host Trevor Noah called her back to present the correct award, Cher seemingly expected to see the winner on the teleprompter rather than her cue cards. But when she turned to her cards, she accidentally – and hilariously – announced the late Luther Vandross as the winner instead of Kendrick Lamar and SZA for their song "Luther."
