Now that the summertime is here, people love enjoying a solid buffalo chicken meal, whether it’s a cheesy dip or a platter of buffalo chicken wings. However, it can be hard to enjoy some of these dishes while trying to lose weight, especially if you’re ordering them from restaurants.
Luckily, a family medicine doctor and weight loss coach, Johnny Hadac, shared his recipe for a cheesy buffalo chicken dish with smashed potatoes on TikTok that is macro-friendly and can help you “lose 10 pounds in a month.” The dish consists of some indulgent, cheesy, spicy chicken and flavorful potatoes that will keep you satisfied. Read more about how to make it below.

Johnny Hadac Preps His Buffalo Chicken Dish Ingredients
To make his popular meal, Johnny starts by taking a package of raw Brussels sprouts, removing their stems, and chopping them in half before placing them in a baking dish with a drizzle of olive oil, a shake of garlic salt, and some pepper. He then places the sprouts in a 400-degree Fahrenheit oven.
To save himself some time, Johnny uses microwaveable small potatoes and cooks them according to their packaging. Once they're out, he places them on a cutting board, smashes each one until they're flat, and seasons them with olive oil, garlic salt, and pepper.
"Once these are seasoned, throw them onto a sheet pan and into the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes," he adds.
After the potatoes and sprouts are in the oven, Johnny moves on to seasoning 2lbs of diced chicken breast with garlic salt, pepper, paprika, and some cayenne pepper. He gives his chicken a good mix before cooking it through in a pan on medium-high heat.

Johnny Makes His High-Protein Buffalo Sauce And Assembles His Dish
Once his chicken is cooked through, the doctor begins making his buffalo sauce. He adds two cups of low-fat cottage cheese and one cup of Frank's Red Hot buffalo sauce to a blender before blending them into a smooth, thick sauce. With his chicken still in the pan, he adds the sauce to it and lets it heat up and coat the chicken before adding a cup of Parmesan cheese and letting everything simmer for about five minutes.
While the chicken rests and the cheese melts, he grabs his Brussels sprouts out of the oven, drizzles a little balsamic vinegar on the top of them, and then throws them back in the oven for another five minutes. He also takes out his potatoes, flips them, and returns them to the oven for 10 minutes.
"Once everything's cooked, add your potatoes, buffalo chicken right on top, and lastly, add your Brussels sprouts," says Johnny towards the end of the video as he adds the food to meal prep containers.
"One of the best high-protein meals I've ever thrown together on the fly," he wrote in his caption.
"Spicy, cheesy, tangy, and insanely satisfying."
With 500 calories and 48 grams of protein in each serving, this is one of those healthy dishes you could enjoy as part of your daily routine while trying to lose weight. Would you give it a try?
