Over the last year, more and more buzz has been generated around one of the Obama family's most exciting projects since they left the White House at the end of Barack's term in 2017 - the Obama Presidential Center, which will serve as a museum, library, and overall community hub.
The large building and campus, which will be located on the South Side of Chicago, a city near and dear to the former president and first lady's hearts, has been under construction for quite some time and is just about ready to welcome visitors and community members. In a new YouTube video, Barack can be heard telling America all about its upcoming grand opening date, which will be on Juneteenth, June 19th, of this year.
"I want to take a moment to thank the city of Chicago, especially the residents of the South Side," says Barack. "Thank you for raising Michelle, for welcoming me as one of your own, for lifting up our family every step of the way. Thank you for embracing this presidential center, not as something of mine but of yours. Hope is coming home, and it wouldn't have happened without all of you. We can't wait to welcome you to your Presidential center."

Since the Obama family has founded and started working on the large center, which, according to the Obama Foundation, will "feature a one-of-a-kind Museum, a community hub, a new branch of the Chicago Public Library, and Home Court, an athletics and recreation space, as well as dozens of outdoor spaces available to visitors year-round," fans of theirs and Chicago residents have become increasingly excited.
After seeing the new YouTube video that was uploaded on Michelle Obama's channel this weekend, followers and other internet users began leaving excited comments, not just about how they couldn't wait to see it, but how "beautiful" they thought the structure was. The tall museum building is decorated with the words, "You Are American," a line from Barack's speech during the Selma protest anniversary.
"The center looks beautiful," wrote a fan on YouTube. "Thank you both for all you do."
"This is very exciting," commented another. "A great date, too. Congratulations, Mr. President."
