Angelina Jolie Fakes Accent In Viral Interview
In an interview with France Inter, Jolie spoke about how she’s stronger for her scars. “I’ve always been someone more interested in the scars and the life that people carry,” she said. “I’m not drawn to a perfect idea of a life that has no scars.”
“My scars are a choice I made to stay here as long as I could with my children,” she continued. “I love my scars because of that. And I’m grateful that I had the opportunity and the choice to do something proactive about my health.”
While the words she spoke were touching and revealed a lot of how she’s been coping with her double mastectomy, many of her words had a certain inflection to them that could be interpreted as a European, particularly French, accent.

Across social media platforms, especially TikTok, Angelina Jolie is catching some heat from fans who think she's faking an accent. However, there are some fans coming out of the woodwork to defend her. "The fake French accent is killing me," one person wrote in a comment on TikTok.
"Anyone else hear the Madonna-I-suddently-have-an-accent going on?" one person asked,
"She sounds like Madonna and Madonna had a fake accent for a while," another person agreed.
"Yes, forced and fake!" added the next.
"I was literally waiting for her to say, 'how you say?"" joked another.
Others, however, said it's a side effect of her constant travels. "Not fake...people pick up the dialects of folks they are around," one person explained.
"Y'all she just played a French woman and the accent rubbed off on her," another said. "It's not that uncommon."
"Linguistic convergence," a final person said in Angie's defense. "People pick up on different dialects, speech styles, accents, when they have prolonged exposure to different environments. She constantly travels around the world."
