Nicki Minaj is facing backlash from some fans after appearing on Lara Trump’s Fox News program and using the platform to encourage young Americans to vote Republican in the upcoming midterm elections.
The rapper appeared on My View with Lara Trump in late September, where she discussed her political views, reiterated her support for President Donald Trump and urged younger voters to participate in the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
For the interview, Minaj wore a black-and-white polka-dot, ankle-length figure-hugging dress with silver heels. She styled her hair in a voluminous, flippy lob and kept her makeup relatively simple.

Nicki Minaj Appears On My View with Lara Trump
The look marked a departure from some of the colorful, revealing and highly stylized outfits that became associated with Minaj earlier in her career.
During the interview, the 43-year-old emphasized that young people should recognize the importance of participating in elections.
“Now is not the time to think that your voice will not be heard,” Minaj said. “Your voice will not only be heard, but your voice is very necessary right now for the country and for the world. We need you guys involved.”
“We need you guys involved more than ever before. This is your country, this is your world,” she continued. “You are the ones that have to reap the benefits of whatever vote decisions we make now.”
Minaj also encouraged viewers to participate in elections beyond presidential races.
“Think about how much you want a say in what happens and realize that the only way to have that is by voting — not just voting for the president, but just voting in all of the local elections,” she said.
She then made her political preference explicit, adding, “Please, and vote red now.”

Nicki Minaj Fans React to Her Political Appearance
Following the interview, some people on social media expressed disappointment with Minaj’s political stance and her decision to appear on Lara's show.
“RIP queen shout out to maga minaj,” one person wrote.
Another commenter referenced Trump and his family, writing, “Legal battles and unpaid debt judgements...she'll fit right in with the family.”
“Someone said she’s dressed like she in the sunken place,” another person commented.
“Blocked on my Spotify,” someone else wrote.
The reactions reflect criticism from some members of Minaj’s audience who do not share her political views. However, the online response does not necessarily represent her entire fanbase.
Nicki Minaj’s Support for Donald Trump
Minaj’s appearance with Lara is the latest in a series of public moments showing her support for Donald Trump.
In January 2026, Minaj appeared alongside Trump at the Trump Accounts event in Washington, D.C., where she publicly described herself as the president’s “number one fan.” The White House also published footage of her appearance.
Nicki has since made additional appearances connected to the White House, including an event in February.
