Vice President JD Vance has begun his campaign to re-elect himself, President Trump, and other approved Republicans within their circle for more terms in office, and he’s not being subtle about it.

The Hillbilly Elegy author sparked a wave of reactions online after a clip from a recent podcast appearance went viral, with social media users accusing him of practically “begging” Americans to vote for him and President Donald Trump’s Republican Party in the upcoming midterm elections. During the conversation, JD made a direct appeal to voters to give the Trump administration more time to carry out its agenda, prompting plenty of online backlash over his choice of words. Read more about what he had to say and how the internet reacted below.

JD Vance Talks To Voters During Appearance On The 'All-In' Podcast

The Vice President joined the All-In Podcast virtually on September 15th during the show's annual summit in Los Angeles, where he spoke with hosts David Sacks, Jason Calacanis, David Friedberg and Chamath Palihapitiya. The conversation covered the Trump administration's record and turned toward the upcoming November midterms, with Palihapitiya asking JD what message he believed needed to be delivered to voters.

As he laid out his case for Republicans heading into the midterms, the Vice President pointed to what he described as the administration's accomplishments while arguing that there was still more work to be done. He then urged Americans to give the Apprentice star and his fellow Republicans more time in office, delivering the line that quickly became the focus of the viral clip.

"Give us another chance or give us another couple of years to continue to work on the amazing things that we've been doing for the past two years," he said.

Social Media Users Poke Fun At JD Following His Comments

The 42-year-old's plea for voters to give Republicans "another chance" in the upcoming midterms quickly became a punchline on social media, with users accusing the vice president of sounding like he was practically "begging" Americans to keep him and President Donald Trump's administration in power.

The comments also drew attention because Trump is already serving his second nonconsecutive presidential term, meaning he would be barred by the 22nd Amendment from being elected to a third term. While Trump himself is not running in the 2026 midterms, JD and other Republicans are campaigning to keep GOP control of Congress, making the vice president's appeal an easy target for critics online.

"Another chance for what? To ruin the economy even more?" responded an X user. "Get these jokers outta here."

"How about a huge NO," wrote another. "JD Vance is desperate to present the face of sanity to the rest of this abominable circus," a user commented. "He is a weak and incompetent puppet that has no moral compass or integrity, and I hope he understands what is about to happen."

"Another chance?" asked another. "NO. You already had your chance. Americans don't pay their rent, groceries, gas, and bills with promises. Prices are still rising, families are feeling the pressure, and now you're asking for 'another couple of years'? We've heard enough promises."
