As if we needed another reason to look forward to National Taco Day, Taco Bell is amping up the heat just in time. And they’ve got an unexpected partner on their side for a seriously exciting collab. The fast-food chain has joined forces with Duolingo for a brand-new sauce collaboration that puts a spicy spin on the language-learning app’s famously chaotic mascot.
It’s time to get excited for the new Duo Habanero Sauce, a limited-edition Taco Bell sauce inspired by Duolingo’s green owl, Duo. And if the description is anything to go by, we’re already reaching for a taco.

Taco Bell And Duolingo Just Created A New Habanero Sauce
The new Duo Habanero Sauce is part of Taco Bell and Duolingo's Global Taco Day collaboration, which launches October 6. The sauce was created exclusively for the collaboration and combines a "bright, tangy flavor" with fruity notes and habanero heat. The chain says the heat builds with every bite.
That sounds like a pretty delicious combination for anyone who likes their Taco Bell order with a little extra kick. And fans on Reddit are already hoping Taco Bell doesn't skimp on the spice. In a discussion about the new sauce, one Taco Bell fan wrote, "That sauce actually sounds like it could be good, I hope they actually make it decently spicy if it's supposed to be habanero."
Another commenter claimed the sauce is a sweet habanero variety and noted that it will cost just 20 cents per packet after the complimentary packet included with a qualifying order.
And, naturally, the sauce packets are getting a Duolingo makeover. Rather than the usual Taco Bell sauce sayings, the limited-edition packets will feature taco-inspired wisdom in nine languages, including English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Portuguese, German, Korean, Mandarin and Japanese.
So while you're adding some heat to your Crunchwrap or Doritos Locos Taco, you might pick up a little language lesson, too.

How To Get Taco Bell's New Duo Habanero Sauce
The Duo Habanero Sauce will be available at participating Taco Bell locations in the U.S. beginning October 6, while supplies last. In the U.S., customers can get one free packet with the purchase of a Doritos Locos Taco, with additional packets available à la carte for 20 cents each, according to Taco Bell.
The sauce isn't just coming to the U.S., either. Taco Bell says the limited-edition sauce will also launch in Canada, Australia, China, India, Spain and the U.K., with availability and promotions varying by market.
And there's more to the collaboration than just hot sauce. Taco Bell Rewards members can unlock a month of Super Duolingo during the Global Taco Day promotion, while fans also have a chance to score a limited-edition Taco Bell x Duo plushie.
For anyone who would rather skip the language lesson and go straight for the tacos, though, that Duo Habanero Sauce is probably the main attraction. A fruity, tangy habanero sauce for just 20 cents? We'll take a few packets, please.
