Taylor Swift officially has a new music video out, and fans can’t get over her look in it, as she’s seemingly rocking a bare face.
The pop star is switching things up. Taylor debuted the music video for her new song “Patient Zero” during the 2026 MTV VMAs, and fans were quick to notice that she appeared to be ditching some of her signature glam for the cinematic visual. In particular, she seemingly went nearly makeup-free for several shots, trading her famously bold red lip for a much more natural look that had fans buzzing online. Taylor Swift Seemingly Rocks A Bare Face In 'Patient Zero' Video
The Grammy-winner had fans freaking out after she released "Patient Zero" as part of the expanded edition of The Life of a Showgirl. The song arrived alongside the highly anticipated music video, which Swift premiered during the 2026 MTV VMAs after teasing it in the days leading up to the show.
The cinematic "Patient Zero" video stars Taylor alongside Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell and was shot by Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki. The dark, romantic video features everything from gravesites and a black rose to Taylor putting on some of her best acting skills.
The "Midnights" vocalist caught fans' attention in several close-up shots. She appeared to be wearing very little makeup, with a bare-looking lip and fresh-faced complexion, possibly with only a light coat of mascara. Her darker-looking bangs and emotional, tear-streaked appearance add to the stripped-back look.
Fans React To Taylor's 'No Makeup' Look
The newlywed vocalist's stripped-down look is quite different from the glam fans have come to associate with her, especially following the Eras Tour. She has long been known for her bold red lipstick, which has become one of her most recognizable beauty go-tos, and has been roasted by some fans as "atrocious." All of this made her seemingly makeup-free appearance in "Patient Zero" feel like a very different direction.
It's also relatively rare to see Taylor without her usual full glam, so the change didn't go unnoticed.
"This is absolutely beautiful," commented a fan on Facebook.
"She only needs the bling of that ring!" wrote another, referencing how Taylor kept her engagement ring from Travis Kelce on for the video.
"She is very beautiful with or without makeup," added a fan. "She has beautiful skin without the makeup."

One user wrote it was nice to see her "real face," as another commented she was "so stunning" and "so brave."
