If I’m not wearing a dress, then you can pretty much guarantee I’m in a cute top.
Fall is especially easy in that department—my bottoms rotation tends to consist of jeans, black pants, tights or, weather permitting, bare legs. There’s only so much styling you can do with the same old pair of jeans, but tops? That’s where things get fun!

This top is basically everything I want to wear in the fall. That sheer, floaty texture! Those dreamy roses! The darker color palette! It’s a little gothic, a little romantic, and very pretty. There’s so much going on with the top that it upgrades even your most basic pair of jeans. With those statement-making details, you really don’t need to do much else.

I’m a sucker for ruffles, and I love how the detailing around the neckline gives this top so much texture. But because it’s done in a dark black-and-white palette, it doesn’t feel overly girly—you just get a nice balance of feminine detail and grown-up feel.

NYDJ Pintuck Top ($62.30 – $89)
This print totally makes me want to bust out of my standard fall uniform. It’s fun and eye-catching without feeling too loud; plus, the blousy fit and billowy three-quarter sleeves give it a really flattering, easy-to-wear shape.
And even if this particular print isn’t speaking to you, don’t worry! It comes in a bunch of other fab colors, so there’s a good chance you’ll find one that is.

This one is definitely the girliest top in the bunch, but I’m not mad about it. The painterly blooms and airy, drapey fit feel super feminine, but that doesn’t mean you have to lean all the way into the girliness.
I actually think this would look so good styled with something a little edgier—like a black leather jacket!—to give you a fun feminine/tough-girl contrast.

Vince Camuto Cowl Neck Sleeveless Blouse ($34.50 – $69)
I am obsessed with this blue. It’s such a gorgeous, rich color that it really doesn’t need much else to make an outfit feel pulled together. And then there’s that cowl neck, which is one of my favorite styles because it makes even simple tops feel fancy. Bonus: it’s thin enough to layer under a blazer or cardigan once the temps start dropping.
