Jenna Ortega Is Frighteningly Thin In New Esquire Video

As part of their "How I Got Here" series, Esquire welcomed Jenna Ortega to talk about her swift rise to fame. Ortega talked about working with big names like Tim Burton, Paul Rudd, Sabrina Carpenter, and Glenn Powell, what it was like growing up in the industry, and admitted to lying in auditions to score a role. However, most viewers weren't paying much attention to what the Mavericks of Hollywood honoree was saying.

Dressed in a thin, beige, spaghetti strap tank top, Ortega opted for a no-makeup makeup look, which only added to her ghost-like appearance. Compared to appearances even just a year ago, Ortega looks noticeably thinner, both in her face and in her arms and shoulders. Many fans compared her physique to that of Ariana Grande's, who has also received backlash for seemingly promoting an unhealthy figure.

Social Media Reactions

In the comment section of the YouTube post and across platforms like Instagram and TikTok, fans did not hold back their concern, with some even criticizing the star for setting an unhealthy example for her younger fans. "Wow, Hollywood unhealthily skinny strikes another great actor," one person commented. "Please get better Jenna!"

"I'm so tired of everyone shrinking," another person posted.

"Whoever is responsible for enabling this behavior among public figures with such impressionable audiences to starve themselves to the point of genuine concern and convincing them they look healthy needs to be reprimanded immediately," said another.

"Why is everyone in Hollywood suddenly turning into skeletons?" asked the next.

"This is so sad," wrote another. "I'm genuinely concerned for her."

"It is unhealthy and frightening for anyone to be this thin," a final user posted.
