Intruder Breaks Into 'Today Show' Studios Reportedly Looking For Al Roker & Confronts Craig Melvin
Arguably one of the most famous morning/daytime talk shows is The Today Show, whose staff and cast of anchors and reporters have become recognized faces not just nationwide, but across the country as well.
This week, their staff was put in a dangerous situation after an unexpected safety breach occurred that led to an intruder making his way through the studio in the path of the popular anchors.
On Thursday, July 16, a man reportedly bypassed security guards at NBC's Rockefeller Center and entered an unauthorized area near Studio 1A around 9:00 AM. According to multiple reports, the man was allegedly asking for longtime anchor Al Roker before, instead coming across Craig Melvin.
According to a law enforcement source who reported to People, the "intruder" reportedly yelled racial slurs and 'confronted' the reporter before he was quickly detained by security and taken into custody, with no one being physically harmed during the incident.

After the news of the security breach and intrusion hit the media, it didn't take long for fans of the Today cast and other social media users to respond, expressing how scary they thought the incident was.
Viewers of the show also began rallying behind the two co-anchors, especially after Craig made a statement the following morning, stating on air, "We are cooperating fully with NYPD as they investigate the matter, and we are just very happy that everyone is safe," as reported by People.
On platforms like Instagram, fans shared messages of support as well as expressed their shared concern and fear regarding the incident.
