Women Are Swapping Their Boring Water For This Ice Pop Electrolyte Mix!

I love a dress because you don’t have to think too hard about it. It’s one piece, you’re done, and then you get to have all the fun—accessories, makeup, maybe a great bag—without sweating the actual outfit part.

Bottoms have never gotten the same love from me. If I’m being totally honest, my tops outnumber my bottoms 10 to 1 in my closet. Maybe that’s because I’ve always felt bottoms are a little boring, but they don’t have to be! A great pair of shorts or a flowy skirt can be just as intentional a choice as any dress. You just have to actually shop for them instead of defaulting to whatever denim is closest.

So this summer, I’m being intentional about it, and I’m bringing you along. We’ve rounded up 6 different bottoms that cover pretty much every occasion summer could throw at you: beach days, dinner reservations, morning workouts, you name it. Ahead, shop the stylish, suitcase-friendly picks that have me convinced this category deserves way more real estate in our suitcases.

All in Favor Lace Handkerchief Hem Skirt ($27.50)

If your vacation aesthetic skews “boho goddess,” then this skirt is your new best friend. The tiered ruffles and lace detailing do all the heavy lifting, so you can throw on a simple tank or bodysuit and call it a day.

It’s a great pick for a beach bonfire, a farmers market stroll, or dinner at an outdoor restaurant with string lights (because: vibes). And on a practical note, I love that the handkerchief hem and side slit help you stay cool when it’s super hot out.

Wit & Wisdom High Waist Relaxed Denim Shorts ($43.99 – $45.46)

Denim shorts are like the little black dress of summer. In other words, you already own a pair, and you’ll wear them constantly anyway.

But this pair earns its spot in the rotation with a crisp white wash and a longer 8″ inseam that feels more put-together than your average cut-offs. The high rise style and stretch-blend denim also make them comfy to sit in, so they’re ideal if you’re road tripping or hanging out at a lakeside picnic. Throw on a cute tank and sandals and you’re basically done thinking about your outfit until dinnertime.

YMI Side Slit High Waist Capri Jeans ($59)

Capris get a bad rap, but this pair might convince you to bring them back. The side slits are the real MVP—they add just enough movement so these don’t feel like a throwback, and the high rise is flattering no matter what you wear them with.

They’re a great in-between choice for days that are too warm for jeans but not quite bikini weather. Wear them with your favorite top on a trip to the museum, out sightseeing, or while at dinner.

CeCe Tiered Denim Midi Skirt with Brown Golden Buckle Belt ($44.55)

This skirt is for anyone who’s challenged by putting an outfit together (me). Because it comes with a belt, you don’t have to dig through your accessories drawer to make it look intentional. Better yet, the elastic waistband means you’ll actually forget you’re wearing denim after a big meal.

I’m also loving the tiered, asymmetric hem, which feels a little more special than your average skirt. Just add a form-fitting top, and let the skirt do the talking—it’s perfect for  a winery, garden party, or brunch with the girls.

Beyond Yoga Caught in the Midi High Waist Leggings ($53.35 – $99)

Don’t let the “yoga” in the name fool you—these leggings are pulling way more weight than your workout schedule! Yes, the moisture-wicking fabric and supportive waistband make them a solid pick for your hotel gym session or a morning hike, but they work just as well on a long travel day or thrown on with an oversized tee and sneakers for casual daytime activities.

Billabong Riley Raw Hem High Waist Denim Shorts ($23.98)

These are your edgier denim shorts. The faded black wash and raw, unfinished hem give them a laid-back feel that’s perfect for pairing with a graphic tee for a concert or chill night out.

With a shorter 4″ inseam, they’re also a great pick if you’re looking to soak up some sun while still keeping things high-waisted and flattering.

However your summer plans takes shape, consider your bottoms drawer officially upgraded. Now go forth and pack accordingly!
