Ariana Grande kicked off the first night of her “Eternal Sunshine Tour” in Oakland, California, with fans quickly taking to social media to express concern about her health after seeing her on stage.

In videos circulating online, the singer appeared in multiple outfit changes throughout the show. One look featured a lilac floral off-the-shoulder dress with a high-low hem, paired with platform heels and leather opera gloves.

Another saw her in a shredded-style soft pink strappy dress with a fringed skirt and matching platform heels. She styled her hair in sleek buns and ponytails, keeping focus on the costumes and stage aesthetic.

Ariana Grande Worries Fans Over Her Health During Tour

While her vocals and stage presence were widely praised, some viewers online focused on her noticeably slimmer frame, with concern growing over whether she would be able to sustain the physically demanding tour schedule.

“This is tragic and sad truly,” one user wrote on Instagram.

Another commented, “She is obviously not well and touring is super exhausting mentally and physically. Sugarcoating her physical condition by calling it ‘body positivity’ is insane!”

Others added, “Unrecognizable,” and “She doesn’t look healthy. I hope she is doing okay and will bring back 2016 Ariana.”

One fan speculated, “I think since she lost Mac… she has never been the same… that really took a toll on her.”

Another noted, “Her leg looked like it was shaking when she was in that pose in the beginning… I’m not body shaming but doing a live concert with dancing and singing is strenuous on the body.”

Others simply wrote, “She looks different.”

At the same time, some fans defended her appearance, saying, “I think she’s looking better,” and “She doesn’t look that bad.”

Grande’s "Eternal Sunshine Tour" officially began on June 6 and will run across North America before heading to London for a residency at The O2 Arena, wrapping on September 1 after a total of 41 shows. Fans had been waiting years for her return to touring, with her last tour taking place in 2019.

In a 2024 interview with Variety, the actress reflected on her evolving career, saying, “I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life… I think the next few years, hopefully we’ll be exploring different forms of art, and I think acting is feeling like home right now.”

Ariana Grande Addresses Health Concerns

The "Thank U, Next" hitmaker first sparked widespread health and weight-related discussion during her Wicked promotional appearances in 2024 and 2025, where fans noted a visibly slimmer frame.

The 32-year-old subtly hinted at criticisms toward her body during her Wicked London press tour, when a journalist asked, "How do you cope with beauty standards and critics? Because this is something that is so overwhelming for women to always look perfect. How do you deal with that?"

She said, "I've been kind of doing this in front of the public and kind of been, you know, a specimen in a petri dish, really, since I was 16 or 17. I've heard every version of it, of what's wrong with me, and then you fix it, and then it's wrong for different reasons."

Ariana added that it's not just the media that focuses on her body; it can also happen in private settings with family: "Even just the simplest thing, your appearance, you know, you're young, and you're hearing all kinds of things; it's hard to protect yourself from that noise," adding that "even if you go to Thanksgiving dinner and someone's granny says, 'Oh, my God, you look skinnier; what happened?' or 'You look heavier; what happened?' It's like, that is something that is uncomfortable and horrible no matter where it's happening, no matter the scale it's happening on."
