Since being named creative director of Christian Louboutin’s menswear division, Jaden Smith has been giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at his work with the iconic French luxury brand. But while the singer and designer recently promoted an upcoming pop-up event for the label’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, many commenters were still focused on one thing: his famous last name.

Last week, the rapper shared a video announcing a series of Christian Louboutin pop-up events set to take place in Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York City, Paris, and London.

Jaden Smith Teases Pop-Up For New Men’s F/W Line

“The @christianlouboutin Men’s Fall/Winter 2026 Pop-Up is coming to LA, ATL, NYC, Paris, and London soon. Get on the guest list at the link in my bio,” he captioned the post.

The teaser featured a sprawling estate backdrop, a striking red architectural installation, and a model wearing only briefs and boots. On-screen text revealed the event dates and locations, along with a promotional message celebrating the launch of the Christian Louboutin Men’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection created in collaboration with Smith.

Despite the high-fashion rollout, critics quickly filled the comments section with familiar accusations of nepotism.

“The nepo baby final boss,” one Instagram user wrote. Another commenter on TikTok joked, “What’s up with those boots?”

The criticism comes after Smith’s previous Christian Louboutin collections received mixed reactions during fashion week season. Still, the 27-year-old appears committed to growing his career in fashion, regularly attending runway shows and collaborating with major luxury brands.

Many fans point to his famous parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, when discussing the opportunities he’s received in both entertainment and fashion. However, the Karate Kid icon has said he was genuinely surprised when he learned Christian Louboutin wanted him to take on such a prominent role.

Jaden Smith Reflects On Being Interviewed For Christian Louboutin Creative Director Role

"When I got the call, it really changed me. I was extremely honored," Smith told Highsnobiety last year. "It's one of the greatest opportunities that I've ever had in my life."

He recalled first meeting legendary designer Christian Louboutin while intentionally dressed in one of his more unconventional outfits.

"I remember showing up in a really wild outfit so that I wouldn't Trojan-horse my way into the conversation and make him think I wasn't going to be myself," Smith said. "He didn't even say anything about it, which was a real shocker to me. We just had an awesome conversation."

Louboutin has also spoken highly of their creative partnership, praising Smith's curiosity and willingness to explore ideas outside of fashion. "We have the same enthusiasm and curiosity when we have creative discussions," Louboutin said. "There's always this kind of ping-pong between us. It's really our common language. The inspiration can come from everywhere."

Whether fans love or hate his work, Smith's role at Christian Louboutin continues to keep him firmly in the spotlight—and the conversation around his fashion career isn't slowing down anytime soon.
